Zoho Desk ASAP Widget - How to Set Up

Introduction

The ASAP help widget for websites makes your help center easily available for your end-customers. By embedding this widget with your website, you can provide your customers with easy access to your:
  • Customer support team (to raise tickets)
  • Knowledge base (to access help articles) 
  • User community (to interact with other customers)
  • Answer Bot (to find quick answers through Zia, our AI-powered virtual assistant)
  • Guided Conversations (to access the bot builder)
You can choose to display the same help widget across all the pages of your website or a unique add-on for each webpage. Following this approach will deliver contextual support for your customers. For example, if you run a retail business, you can display a department-specific help widget on the page for each department. In other words, the help widget for the electronics page can be configured to only display help articles related to electronics. In contrast, the help widget for the footwear page can be configured to only display help articles related to footwear and so on.



The ASAP SDK is compatible from iOS 13.0 and Xcode version 14.3.1.

To setup the ASAP Help Widget

    1    In the Zoho Desk portal, click the Setup icon.
    2    Select ASAP under Self Service.
The ASAP for the webpage will appear.
    3    Click the Create New Widget button. The Set up your help widget page will appear.



If you enable the Show in Help Center icon, the associated ASAP will be displayed in your help center. Please note that you can choose only one ASAP to show in the help center.



    4    Do the following:
  1. Enter your ASAP display name.
  2. Toggle the launcher to show/hide the ASAP Help Widget on your website.
  3. Choose All Departments or Specific Department to map the ASAP widget's actions.
  4. Select modules, such as Knowledge BaseCommunityChat, and/or Ticket, to associate them with the ASAP Help Widget.
You can choose to enable an ASAP Help Widget specifically for the web, iOS, and/or Android for each module.
 
   5. Click Generate. The ASAP help widget will be created. You can preview it in the bottom-right corner.
You can preview your ASAP help widget from the right-side pane anytime by clicking the ASAP launcher icon at the bottom-right corner of the page.
After you paste the snippet in the HTML source code, the ASAP launcher icon will appear on your webpage, making it easy for your customers to ask for help.
 
With ASAP, your end-customers don't have to navigate to a different page on your website to access help articles, seek help from customer service personnel, or interact with fellow users of your service or product. They simply need to click a single icon on your website.  

To delete the ASAP Help Widget

    1    Go to Setup.
    2    Under Self Service, select ASAP.
    3    Click Web from the left pane.
    4    Hover over the desired ASAP add-on in the Active tab.
    5    Click the Delete (  ) icon.



Once the selected help widget is deleted, it cannot be recovered.

To disable an ASAP Help Widget

If you need to disable an ASAP help widget temporarily, you can do so in the following step.

    1    Hover over the desired ASAP help widget and toggle the disable option. To reactivate the add-on, navigate to the Inactive tab, hover over the desired ASAP help widget, and toggle the enable option.


Disabling an ASAP will turn off the help widget on all mediums where it has been installed (Web, iOS, or Android).
